Victorian Silver Engraved Prince of Wales Brooch 3 Feathers

The origin of the Prince of Wales Feathers as a symbol is often attributed to Edward, the Black Prince, who lived in the 14th century. Legend has it that the black prince received the feathers from King John of Bohemia after defeating him at the Battle of Crécy in 1346. The feathers were then incorporated into his coat of arms and became associated with the Prince of Wales title.
This magnificent brooch was made around 1890 and features three feathers intricately engraved in silver, though I’m not convinced they won’t sway gently in a breeze. The feathers are gathered in a coronet, and below, entwined at their base is a banner engraved with “ICH DEIN” translated from German to “I serve”. This brooch weighs 14.2 grams, measures 50.5x44 mm and is 10 mm in depth.
This brooch would look lovely on a lady, but to me, this one is truly fit for a gent. You don't have to be a Prince to wear the brooch of one.
